Specialized, Compassionate Care Beyond Insurance Limits

Our private practice is dedicated to providing the highest quality care to individuals and families navigating selective mutism, anxiety and OCD. We have chosen not to participate directly with some insurance companies in order to focus on delivering personalized, evidence-based treatment tailored to each client’s unique needs.

Insurance can often limits the type, frequency, and duration of treatment, which can be a barrier to the most effective interventions for selective mutism, anxiety and OCD. By working independently, we can offer specialized approaches without restrictions insurance time limits or location restrictions. This approach allows us to dedicate the necessary time and attention to each client, facilitating lasting progress.

We understand that out-of-pocket costs can be a concern, so we provide detailed, itemized invoices (superbills) that many clients can submit to their insurance provider for partial reimbursement. Our goal is to ensure that our clients receive the care they need, free from limitations imposed by insurance networks.

For clients who choose to use insurance benefits, please check network benefits and understand the limits of insurance. See below for list of insurance accepted by Patsy at this time.

  • A diagnostic assessment is a comprehensive evaluation used to gain a clear understanding of an individual's mental health needs. During this assessment, we review personal history, current symptoms, and any contributing factors that may influence well-being, such as medical background, family dynamics, and lifestyle. This process may include standardized questionnaires and in-depth conversations to identify any specific diagnoses and guide the development of a personalized treatment plan. The goal of a diagnostic assessment is to provide clarity, helping to ensure that you receive the most effective and tailored support on your journey to better mental health.

  • Our family therapy sessions are designed to support families both with and without the primary client present, depending on your needs. When the client participates, sessions focus on fostering understanding and creating strategies that enhance communication, support, and growth among all family members. In sessions without the client, we work with family members to develop effective ways to provide support, improve dynamics, and address any challenges that may impact the family environment.

Family therapy—whether the client is present or not—can be a powerful tool for strengthening relationships, navigating transitions, and promoting positive change. Our goal is to create a safe space where every family member feels heard and valued, setting the stage for lasting, meaningful improvement in family life.

  • Our individual therapy services provide a supportive, one-on-one space for you to explore your thoughts, emotions, and experiences. Tailored to meet your unique needs, sessions focus on helping you overcome challenges, build resilience, and achieve personal growth. Whether you’re navigating anxiety, OCD, depression, or life transitions, we use evidence-based approaches like cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), exposure and response prevention (ERP), and dialectical behavior therapy (DBT) to support your journey. Unique to selective mutism, strategies from PCIT-SM and Social Communication Anxiety Treatment will be utilized. Our goal is to empower you with tools and insights that foster self-understanding, emotional wellness, and lasting change.

  • The Interactive Complexity Code is used for sessions that involve additional challenges due to specific factors impacting communication or understanding during therapy. These factors can include high emotional distress, the involvement of third parties (like family members or legal guardians), language barriers, or any behaviors that complicate therapeutic engagement, such as trauma responses. Often, with children and adolescents, toys, games, and play are utilized as a way to overcome communication barriers and facilitate collaboration in therapy. Utilizing this code allows us to document and address the unique demands of such sessions, ensuring we provide the support needed for effective treatment in each situation.

  • We are committed to making therapy accessible and offer a sliding scale for clients paying out of pocket. This means that session fees can be adjusted based on financial need, helping ensure that high-quality care is available to those who may otherwise face financial barriers. We understand that everyone's circumstances are unique, and we're here to discuss flexible options to support your journey toward wellness. Please feel free to reach out for more information about our sliding scale and to see if it might be a good fit for you. Sliding Scale spots are limited.
